FDM Slice Preview

Slice an STL, OBJ or PLY model into FDM layers and scrub the perimeter outlines — a preview, not a printable file. Runs entirely in your browser.

Drop a 3D model to slice it

.stl · .obj · .ply — the first run loads the 3D engine once

How to use

  1. Drop a 3D model in, or tap the box to choose one. STL, OBJ and PLY all work, and everything stays on your device.
  2. Set the layer height in millimetres (0.2 mm is a common FDM default), then press Slice. The 3D engine loads once on first use.
  3. Drag the Layer slider to scrub up and down through the model. Each layer shows the perimeter outlines that an FDM printer would trace at that height.

FAQ

Can I print from this tool?

No — this previews how the model slices into layers — it is NOT a printable file. Real printing needs a full slicer (Cura or Bambu Studio for FDM) to generate the G-code your printer reads. Use this to sanity-check a model’s cross-sections and overhangs before you commit to a real slice.

What does the outline view show?

Each layer is drawn as the perimeter outline of the model’s cross-section at that height — the loop an FDM nozzle traces around the wall. Scrubbing the slider lets you see how the shape changes layer by layer, including islands and holes.

Is my model uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read, parsed and sliced entirely in your browser. It never leaves your device, so the tool works offline and stays private. The 3D engine loads once on first use and is then cached.
