How to use
- Choose your opponent — the computer (you play White) or a friend on the same device — and a difficulty.
- Click a piece to see its legal moves highlighted, then click a square to move. Pawns reaching the far rank promote to a queen.
- The game tells you about check, checkmate, stalemate and draws. Use Undo to take a move back, or New game to start over.
FAQ
Does it enforce all the chess rules?
Yes — castling, en passant, promotion, check, checkmate, stalemate and draw conditions are all handled by a proven rules engine (chess.js), so only legal moves are allowed.
How strong is the computer?
It looks ahead with a minimax search: Easy plays quick, casual moves, while Medium and Hard search deeper and value material and position. It’s a friendly opponent, not a grandmaster engine.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The whole game — rules and computer moves — runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and it works offline after the first load.
