FAQ
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every image is compressed and resized right inside your browser using an HTML canvas. Nothing is ever sent to us, so it works offline and your photos stay completely private.
Which format should I choose?
JPEG is great for photographs. WebP usually gives the smallest file at the same quality and is supported by all modern browsers. PNG is best for graphics, screenshots, or anything needing transparency. “Same as input” keeps the original type.
Why did my file barely shrink, or even get bigger?
Images that are already compressed have little left to remove — lowering the quality or setting a smaller max width helps. Re-saving a photo as PNG can also make it larger, since PNG is lossless; try JPEG or WebP for photos.
