FAQ
How is running pace worked out?
Pace is your finish time divided by the distance. This tool turns your hours, minutes and seconds into total seconds, converts your distance to kilometres and miles, then divides to get seconds per kilometre and seconds per mile, which it shows as a tidy minutes:seconds figure. It also divides distance by time to give your average speed in km/h and mph. For example, 5 km in 25 minutes is a pace of 5:00 per kilometre, about 8:03 per mile, or 12 km/h.
Is anything I type sent to a server?
No. Your distance and time are used for plain arithmetic right in your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored. The calculator works offline and keeps your numbers private.
Is this an exact reading of my fitness?
It is an average pace estimate for the distance and time you enter, not medical advice. Real runs vary with hills, wind, surface and how you feel on the day, so treat the number as a planning guide and speak to a health professional before starting demanding training.
