FAQ
What are decimal hours?
Decimal hours express the time as a single number where the minutes are a fraction of an hour — so 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.50, and 8 hours 15 minutes is 8.25. Payroll systems and invoices usually want this form.
How do I handle a night shift that ends after midnight?
Tick "End time is on the next day". The tool then adds 24 hours to the end time, so a shift from 22:00 to 06:00 correctly comes out as 8 hours rather than a negative value.
Does the break get subtracted from the total?
Yes. The minutes you enter as a break are taken off the gap between the start and end times, so the duration shown is the actual paid time. Leave it at 0 if there is no break.
