FAQ
How is GPA calculated?
Each letter grade is worth a number of grade points on the 4.0 scale: A is 4.0, A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, B is 3.0, and so on down to F at 0.0. To find your GPA, multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours, add all of those up, then divide by the total credit hours. A heavier course (more credits) therefore pulls your GPA more than a light one. This tool does that weighted average for you live as you type, and shows the total credits it covers.
Is anything I type uploaded?
No — it runs in your browser. Your course names, grades and credit hours are used for plain arithmetic on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, uploaded or stored, so your results stay private and the tool works offline.
What grading scale does it use?
It uses the common unweighted 4.0 scale, where A and A+ are both 4.0. Some schools weight honours or AP classes higher, or treat A+ as 4.3, so always double-check against your own school's official scale. You can leave the grade on any value and adjust credit hours to match exactly how your school counts a course.
