Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded and cleaned entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API. It never leaves your device, so it works offline and stays private.
How does it decide what’s silence?
Anything quieter than your threshold counts as silence. Silence at the very start and end is removed completely, and long internal pauses are shortened to the “keep gaps” length so speech still breathes naturally.
Which formats can I use?
Any format your browser can decode (MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG). The result is saved as a lossless WAV; convert it with the Audio Converter if you need MP3.
