FAQ

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using an HTML canvas. Your images are never sent to a server, so it works offline and stays completely private.

Which formats can I convert?

It reads any image your browser can decode — PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF and more — and writes PNG, JPG, GIF and BMP, plus WebP and AVIF when your browser can encode them. To turn a photo into a true vector (SVG), use the Image to Vector tool instead.

Why don’t I see WebP or AVIF in the list?

Those two are only offered when your browser can actually encode them. If a browser can’t write WebP or AVIF, that option is hidden so you never download a file in the wrong format. PNG and JPG are always available.

PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP — which should I pick?

PNG is lossless and keeps transparency (great for logos and graphics). JPG is best for photographs. WebP and AVIF usually give the smallest file at the same quality. GIF is limited to 256 colours and is saved as a single still frame. BMP is uncompressed and large, handy when a program needs a plain bitmap.
