How to use
- Type your page title, URL and meta description — the preview updates as you type.
- Watch the character counts: titles over ~60 characters and descriptions over ~160 often get cut off by Google.
- Switch between Desktop and Mobile to check both, then tweak until nothing is truncated.
FAQ
How does Google decide what to cut off?
Google truncates titles by pixel width (roughly 600px on desktop), not a fixed character count, and descriptions at around 155–160 characters. This preview measures the actual pixel width of your title in Google’s font, so the cut-off matches what you’ll really see.
Will Google always use my title and description?
Not always — Google may rewrite them to better match the search query. But a clear, well-sized title and description give you the best chance of being shown as written.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The preview is rendered entirely in your browser from what you type. Nothing is sent anywhere, so it’s private and works offline.
