Audio Metadata Cleaner
Strip ID3 tags, cover art and comments from an audio file in your browser — for privacy, nothing uploaded.
Drop an audio file to clean its metadata
MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A…
Add an audio file to begin. The first clean downloads the engine (~25 MB) once.
How to use
- Drop an audio file in, or tap the box to choose one.
- Press Clean & download — every tag, cover image and comment is removed.
- Save the cleaned file; the format and audio stay exactly the same.
FAQ
What metadata does this remove?
Everything it can: title, artist, album, year, genre, track number, comments, embedded cover art and any other ID3 or container tags. The audio itself is copied untouched, so quality is unchanged.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Cleaning runs entirely in your browser using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so your file never leaves your device. The engine (about 25 MB) downloads once on first use and is then cached.
Does cleaning change the format or re-compress the audio?
No. The file keeps its original format and the audio stream is copied as-is, so there is no quality loss — only the metadata is stripped out.
