Video Metadata Cleaner

Strip title, comments, dates, GPS and encoder tags from a video for privacy — right in your browser, nothing uploaded.

Drop a video to clean its metadata

MP4, WebM, MOV…

Add a video to begin. The first run downloads the engine (~25 MB) once.

How to use

  1. Drop a video in, or tap the box to choose one.
  2. Press Clean & download — the engine re-packages the file without re-encoding, so it stays sharp.
  3. Save the cleaned copy. Your original is untouched, and nothing left your device.

FAQ

What metadata does this remove?

It strips embedded tags like the title, comments, creation date, GPS/location, and encoder or handler names. These can quietly reveal where and when a clip was made, or which app produced it. The picture and sound are left exactly as they were.

Will the video lose quality?

No. The file is re-packaged (re-muxed), not re-encoded, so the video and audio streams are copied across untouched. That also makes it fast — even big files finish quickly because nothing is recompressed.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser using ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your video never leaves your device. The engine (about 25 MB) downloads once on first use and is then cached.
