Add a video to begin. The first run loads the engine (~25 MB) once.

How to use

  1. Drop a video in, or tap the box to choose one.
  2. Pick a blur strength, from a light softening to a very strong frosted look.
  3. Press Blur & download. Everything runs in your browser, so the video is never uploaded.

FAQ

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The blur is applied entirely in your browser with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, so your video never leaves your device. The engine (about 25 MB) downloads once on first use, then is cached.

Can I blur just one area, like a face or a logo?

Not yet — this tool blurs the whole frame evenly, which is great for soft backgrounds, dreamy looks, or hiding fine detail across the picture. A region-only blur is on the ideas list.

Will a strong blur make the file bigger or smaller?

Usually a little smaller — a blurred picture has less fine detail, which compresses better. The video is re-encoded to H.264 at high quality and the audio is kept.
